For many years I wanted to open an online woodworking store of my own, but after doing my research (and a lot of tool shopping!) I realized that there were already a number of great woodworking stores on the Internet. Instead of opening my own store I started thinking of other ways to combine my woodworking hobby with my experience in e-commerce and web development. After some time, I came up with an idea to help woodworkers find the best deals on tools and supplies on the Web. I know from experience that many woodworkers are like me. We spend a lot of time shopping around for the best deals. We compare prices, wait around for sales and ponder the differences between various models and brands. Then if we're lucky, we brag to our friends about the awesome deal we found after months of bargain hunting. From that realization, ThriftyWoodworker.com was born. Thrifty Woodworker is a site dedicated to finding the best prices on woodworking tools and supplies on the Internet. Unlike other shopping comparison sites, Thrifty Woodworker is owned an operated by people (okay mostly just one guy) who knows woodworking and likes to shop around for the best deals. By knowing what woodworkers are looking for, we can highlight the products that work for woodworkers (at the best prices!) Now you might be wondering what I get out of the whole deal. Well, while I enjoy working on the site, I don’t just donate my time to the cause. Some of the merchants featured on the site give me a small commission when you click over from my site and make a purchase. However, many of the links on our site generate no revenue for me at all. I provide those links as a service to you, the site visitor. I try to accurately represent the prices of the stores out there so you can make the most informed buying decision possible. I wouldn't be doing my job if we only gave you half of the information. You'll also notice I have ads to other woodworking sites. The ads and the commissions our site generates allow us to do something we're passionate about. It also allows me to spend more time working on the site, therefore saving you time and money.
